About us

Originally founded by a group of artists with a keen interest in and appreciate for fine art while actively developing their own artistic talents, PAG has been a part of the cultural fabric of our community for over 50 years. Today, we remain dedicated to our mission of promoting education, appreciation, enjoyment and the distribution of fine art.

Our current membership includes those beginning their artistic journey, to award winning members who have been painting for many years. We are a supportive group offering a variety of programs and activities designed to inspire, share and encourage artistic growth.

Executive Board

Our volunteer governing board consists of President, Vice President, Recording and Corresponding Secretary, and Treasurer. These elected positions become available in the spring. Whether a member of the board, the chair of a show, a volunteer for refreshments – there are so many ways to collaborate with other artists.

Shows

We offer members both juried and non-juried art shows per year. For example, a Fall show at a local establishment November to December, a Holiday Exhibit at the Pittsford Federal Credit Union in Mendon December thru February, and a Spring Show at Barnes and Noble in March.

Meetings

We meet at the Spiegel Pittsford Community Center, 35 Lincoln Ave, Pittsford, NY 14534, the first Thursday of the month. Meetings start at 7 pm with a short business meeting then at 7:30pm a demonstration by a Presenter or other program such as a mini-workshop featuring local or regional artists, with a brief intermission of snacks/drink. Meetings run until approximately 8:30pm depending on the presenter and member involvement. In June we hold our annual picnic. We do not meet in July and August.

Guests

Guests with an interest in joining PAG as an Active or Associate member (see Membership page for more details) are more than welcomed and encouraged to attend one of our monthly meetings to hear and see what’s going on and to watch our wonderful demonstrator. To help with rising costs it would be appreciated if a $5.00 donation was made to the group. If the guest decides to join the PAG then the donation will be applied to their joining fee. Our meetings and guest artist demonstrations are otherwise not open to the public.
